Five programmes. One goal: every child learning.
Education comes first. Everything else we do — meals, dignity, sport and family support — exists to keep Kenyan children in class and learning.

Education is at the heart of everything we do
We believe achieving universal basic education is the single greatest step towards ending poverty. So we put books in children’s hands, supplies on their desks and support around them — until learning becomes something they can count on.
Why education, and why here
Kenya has made real progress getting children into school, and the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC) asks more of learners than ever — reading, projects and hands-on materials.
But for many families, school still comes with hidden costs: uniforms, exercise books, stationery, and activity and exam levies. In Nairobi’s informal settlements and in rural communities, those costs — together with hunger and long walks to school — are often why children fall behind or drop out.
That is the gap we work in.
Books & reading
We donate storybooks and run reading sessions — under a tree, in a hall or in a classroom — where children read aloud, share stories and discover that books are for them. A child who enjoys reading carries that confidence into every subject.
School supplies
The basics that CBC classrooms depend on, so the cost of supplies is never the reason a child sits without materials or misses class:
- Exercise books and textbooks
- Pencils, pens, rulers and crayons
- Storybooks for class and home
- Learning materials for projects
Keeping children in school
Children miss school for reasons that have nothing to do with ability: an empty stomach, no sanitary pads, no one at home able to help, or simply losing hope. Each of our other programmes removes one of those barriers:
- Nutrition — a hungry child cannot learn
- Girls’ Health & Dignity — no girl misses school because of her period
- Sports for Development — mentorship that keeps children motivated
- Family & Community — support for learning at home
Sponsor a school book drive
Fill a school library shelf and fund reading sessions for a whole school community.
Equip a classroom with supplies
Provide exercise books, stationery and learning materials for a class for a full school year.
Nutrition
A hungry child cannot learn
Our feeding days bring children, parents and volunteers together over a hot, nutritious meal — prepared with care and served with dignity. For many children it is a reason to show up, and the energy to concentrate once they do.

Girls' Health & Dignity
Many girls miss school during their period because they cannot afford sanitary products. We distribute sanitary pads and share menstrual health education with girls so that no girl has to stay home because of her period.
With Beyond Hoops
Sports for Development
Basketball draws children in; mentorship keeps them coming back. Together with our partner Beyond Hoops, we run basketball clinics and play days where coaches teach teamwork, discipline and self-belief — and remind every player that school comes first.
Family & Community
Strong families, strong learners
Children thrive when the adults around them are supported. Our family and community forums bring parents and caregivers together to learn about positive parenting, supporting children’s learning at home, and health and wellbeing.
