Since 2015, Mtoto Shujaa has worked alongside Kenyan families, schools and communities to keep children learning — with books, school supplies, meals, mentorship and dignity.
Who we are
A Kenyan organisation rooted in community
Mtoto Shujaa means “hero child” in Swahili. We began in Nairobi in 2015 with a simple belief: education is the surest path out of poverty, and every child deserves the chance to learn.
We support school children wherever they are — regardless of gender, religion, ethnic group, country of origin or their parents’ political affiliation.

Children learn best when they are fed, healthy, confident and supported at home. Our five programmes work together so that no Kenyan child has to choose between survival and school.
Education

Feeding days that make sure hunger never stands between a child and the classroom.
Girls' Health & Dignity
No girl should miss school because of her period. We share sanitary products and menstrual health education.
