Mtoto Shujaa respects your privacy and the privacy of the children and families we work with. This notice explains what personal data this website collects, why, and your rights under Kenya’s Data Protection Act, 2019.
What we collect
- Contact and partnership forms: your name, email address, organisation, phone number (optional) and your message.
- Donations: if online giving is enabled, our GiveWP donation system records your name, email address and donation details. Card payments are processed by the payment provider, not stored on this website.
- Website analytics: we use Google Analytics (through the MonsterInsights plugin) to understand how many people visit and which pages they use. This uses cookies and collects information such as your approximate location, device and pages viewed.
- WhatsApp: the WhatsApp buttons open a chat in WhatsApp. Messages you send there are handled by WhatsApp under its own privacy policy.
How we use it
We use your details only to reply to you, to arrange and report on partnerships and donations you ask about, and to improve this website. We do not sell your personal data.
Children’s privacy
Photographs of children are shared with guardian consent, and children are never identified by name on this website.
Where your data is kept and for how long
This website is hosted by Hostinger. Form messages are delivered to our email inbox. We keep enquiries and donation records only for as long as we need them to respond to you, keep proper financial records and meet our legal obligations, after which they are deleted.
Your rights
Under the Data Protection Act, 2019 you may ask to see the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it. You may also complain to the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner.
